Have you ever wondered what that means? Or, if you are familiar with RSS, have you ever wondered how it works?

Let’s find out

What is RSS

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. At its core, it’s just a standardized method for pushing updates to a website in a way that makes it easy for consumption by other computers. If you really like a website that posts updates about cryptocurrency (or maybe a blog from a really cool individual developer…) you might check their RSS feed to see what content is updated to the website. The feed normally has some metadata and information like that that helps you identity the content. A lot of podcasts also are distributed these days using RSS feeds.

Before RSS, there were a couple attempts at similar standardization for the web.
